ABOUT ME: Hi, I'm Amy! I'm leading with an exclamation point- so I'm pretty high energy, you've been warned. I've been practicing yoga for over 20 years, it's officially my longest and best relationship thus far. I love it because it teaches me to reconnect to my whole self and find the flow in my life. Seeing how powerful it was in my own personal development over the years inspired me to learn more.
I completed my 200 hours RYT though Core Power in 2015, and have almost completed my 500 hours of study through 90 Monkeys Yoga Training (have my final test and practicum to finish, but working around the pandemic to still get to the finish line). After taking specialized yoga teacher trainings for the Veteran Yoga Project, Trauma Informed Yoga, and Yoga for 12 Step Recovery I started leading Yoga Recovery Meetings to help bring balance and peace to my community. I strive to help my students cultivate mind-body awareness on and off the mat. My teaching style emphasizes thoughtful sequencing, hands on adjustments, inspirational intentions and positive energy.
When I'm not doing yoga, you can find me taking long walks and looking for a good park to practice headstands... so I guess still doing yoga. I like to try to find peace wherever possible even while in a city environment. Creating daily rituals to give structure and gratitude into my life. My self care rituals and intuitive practices are also guided heavily by the lunar cycle. Flowing with the different phases of the moon helps me connect deeper with nature, myself, and my spiritual guides. And I love sharing these methods through Lunar Cycle Yoga Workshops (see workshop page for next start date).
My happy place is anywhere where I can see mountains and I like giving pep talks to my plants. I always make time to use my imagination. Expressing it through writing comedy, pretending I'm in a reality tv show with the help of my stuffed animals and decorating plastic dinosaurs. And I never leave the house without my tarot cards, crystals, journal and now hand sanitizer and mask.
